Legal information
General Terms of Use
Version of 1 October 2026 (version 2026-10-01).
§ 1 Provider and scope
(1) These Terms of Use apply to the use of the service “World Sync Play” (the “Service”), consisting of the desktop application, the account area on world-sync-play.com and the associated server services. The provider is Finn Jebing, Waldeckstr. 25, 81543 München, Germany (the “Provider”, “we”).
(2) Deviating terms of the user (the “User”) do not become part of the contract unless we expressly agree to them in text form.
(3) A consumer within the meaning of these terms is any natural person who enters into the contract for purposes that are predominantly outside their trade, business or profession.
§ 2 Conclusion of the contract and account
(1) Using the Service requires an account. By submitting the registration form, the User makes an offer to conclude a contract of use. The contract is concluded when the account is activated.
(2) The information given at registration must be accurate. Changes must be updated in the account area.
(3) Sign-in details must be kept secret and must not be passed on. If unauthorised use is suspected, the password must be changed without delay and we must be informed.
(4) There is no right to registration. We may refuse a registration without giving reasons, in particular during a limited test phase.
§ 3 Minimum age and consent of parents or guardians
(1) The Service is intended for people aged 16 and over. People between 7 and 16 may only use the Service with the consent of their parents or guardians; the parents or guardians are responsible for the use.
(2) On request, the consent of the parents or guardians must be proven to us. If this proof cannot be provided, we are entitled to suspend the account.
§ 4 Description of the Service
(1) The Service makes it possible to keep game saves (“worlds”) in sync between several devices and people, to start a game server on one's own computer and to make it reachable through a fixed address. Depending on the plan, a server can be run temporarily on rented infrastructure.
(2) The specific scope of the Service results from the chosen plan and the respective description in the account area. We do not owe any functions beyond that.
(3) In particular, the following are not owed: the game Minecraft itself or a licence for it, the functioning of third-party mods, plugins or modpacks, a particular game performance, a particular latency, and the permanent availability of third-party interfaces (such as Mojang, Microsoft, Modrinth or infrastructure providers).
(4) The Service is under active development. We may change, extend or discontinue functions insofar as this is reasonable for the User and does not endanger the purpose of the contract. We announce significant restrictions with reasonable notice in the account area or by email.
§ 5 Test phase
(1) During the test phase, the “Testphase” plan is provided free of charge. No payment details are collected and no costs arise.
(2) The “Testphase” plan ends automatically on 31 December 2026. After that, the account is switched to the free “Free” plan without any action on your part. No cancellation is required and no payment obligation arises. An automatic conversion into a paid plan expressly does not take place.
(3) After the switch to “Free”, its limits apply (for example for storage and the number of worlds). If existing data exceeds these limits, it initially remains readable; we give timely notice before any restriction and the opportunity to export or reduce the data.
(4) Errors, interruptions and changes are to be expected during the test phase. There is no right to a particular availability.
(5) As long as the “Testphase” plan is offered, the User may switch between the free plans “Testphase” and “Free” at any time in the account area. The switch takes effect immediately and is free of charge in both directions. Paragraph 3 applies accordingly to a switch to “Free”; before the switch, it is shown which limits the current data would exceed. A switch does not extend the test phase; it ends in any case at the time stated in paragraph 2.
§ 6 Paid plans
(1) Paid plans cannot be booked at present. They will only be offered once a payment process has been set up.
(2) As soon as paid plans are offered, the following also applies: prices result from the price overview in the account area and are final prices; no VAT is shown under § 19 UStG (German small business rule). Billing takes place in advance for the agreed period. A paid plan can be cancelled at any time with effect from the end of the current billing period; cancellation is possible via a button provided for this purpose in the account area.
(3) A switch from a free to a paid plan only takes place when expressly ordered by the User. There is no tacit switch.
§ 7 Right of withdrawal
(1) For free contracts – and therefore for the test phase and the “Free” plan – there is no statutory right of withdrawal, because no fee is payable. The contract of use can be ended at any time without formalities by deleting the account.
(2) If a consumer concludes a paid contract in future, they will receive separate information on the right of withdrawal together with a model withdrawal form before the contract is concluded. This then becomes part of the contract.
§ 8 Obligations of the User
(1) The User undertakes not to use the Service to
- store, distribute or make accessible content that is illegal, harmful to minors, insulting, inciting hatred or infringing the rights of third parties;
- distribute malware or circumvent security measures;
- put excessive or automated load on the infrastructure, in particular through load attacks, mass requests or computing load that does not serve the operation of a game server;
- resell the Service or provide it to third parties for a fee, unless expressly agreed;
- infringe the rights of Mojang Studios, Microsoft or other rights holders, in particular by use without a valid game licence.
(2) The User is responsible for the content they store or make accessible through the Service, and for the behaviour of the people they invite to a server they run.
(3) The User indemnifies us against claims asserted against us by third parties because of a breach of these obligations for which the User is responsible, including reasonable costs of legal defence. This does not apply insofar as the User is not responsible for the breach.
§ 9 Availability and maintenance
(1) No particular availability is promised. We strive for operation that is as free of disruption as possible, but do not owe it.
(2) Maintenance work, disruptions at upstream suppliers and events of force majeure can lead to interruptions. Where possible, we announce planned maintenance in advance.
§ 10 Data backup
(1) The Service stores world states and keeps versions. This function does not replace your own backups.
(2) The User is obliged to make their own backup copies of their data at reasonable intervals, in particular before major changes and before updates of the application. The application provides an export function for this.
(3) In the event of a data loss for which we are responsible, our liability is limited to the effort that would have been necessary to restore the data had the User made proper backups.
§ 11 Liability
(1) We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for fraudulent concealment of a defect, where we have given a guarantee, for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act.
(2) In the case of simple negligence, we are only liable for the breach of an essential contractual obligation – that is, an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance the User may regularly rely. In this case, liability is limited to the damage that was foreseeable and typical for the contract when it was concluded.
(3) Otherwise, liability is excluded.
(4) Where the Service is provided free of charge – in particular during the test phase and on the “Free” plan – we are only liable for intent and gross negligence and in the cases of paragraph 1.
(5) The above limitations also apply in favour of our legal representatives and vicarious agents.
§ 12 Term, termination and suspension
(1) The contract of use runs for an indefinite period and can be terminated by either party at any time without notice, unless otherwise agreed for a paid plan. The User terminates by deleting their account in the account area.
(2) The right to extraordinary termination for good cause remains unaffected. Good cause exists in particular in the case of a serious breach of § 8.
(3) If there is a specific suspicion of a serious breach, we may temporarily suspend the account. We inform the User and give them the opportunity to comment, unless legal reasons prevent this.
(4) After the end of the contract, the stored world data is deleted within 30 days. Within this period, the User may request an export.
§ 13 Rights to content
(1) The rights to the content provided by the User – in particular to world data – remain with the User.
(2) The User grants us the simple, territorially unrestricted right, limited to the term of the contract, to store, reproduce and transfer this content insofar as this is necessary to provide the Service – in particular for synchronisation, versioning and running a server. No use beyond this takes place.
§ 14 Changes to these terms
(1) We may change these terms if this is necessary because of a change in the legal situation, supreme court case law, technical circumstances or the scope of the Service, and the User is not unreasonably disadvantaged as a result.
(2) We announce changes in text form at least six weeks before they take effect. If the User does not object within six weeks of receipt, the changes are deemed accepted. We point out this consequence separately in the notice. If the User objects, either party may terminate the contract as of the time the changes take effect.
§ 15 Trademarks and third-party rights
Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Studios or Microsoft Corporation. World Sync Play is an independent offering and is not affiliated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft. Use of the game is governed exclusively by the terms of the respective rights holders.
§ 16 Final provisions
(1) The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this choice of law only applies insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection granted by mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which the consumer has their habitual residence.
(2) If the User is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Munich.
(3) Should any provision be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
